My taste buds are so happy to have been recently introduced to Arepa Olé, a Venezuelan fast food chain that serves vegetarian options in Madrid. If you like South American flavors, comfort food, and affordable prices, then this is the place for you! Being half Colombian, I often crave the simple yet flavorful goodies from my grandmother’s kitchen: black beans, fried plantains, arepas, tostones, corn, and avocados. Salivating as I write! Luckily all these flavors can be found in Venezuelan food too and on Arepa Olé’s menu. My recommendation is to order as a take-away treat, sit on your couch, watch some Netflix and have a gluttonous old time! Reminder this is not healthy food but it is vegetarian Venezuelan fast food at its finest! Continue reading “Vegetarian Venezuelan Fast Food – Arepa Olé”
L’Artisan Furansu Kitchen is a non-veg Japanese and French cuisine restaurant in Madrid that serves vegetarian-friendly dishes created by a talented chef. This is the kind of place Wanderlicious loves! Multicultural flavors, a cozy ambiance, and a menu that everyone, omnivore and carnivore alike, can get excited about. I love reviewing restaurants that can be enjoyed by everyone and with everyone, especially friends and family who may not be plant-based. No one has to compromise on taste, options, or ambiance. L’Artisan was kind enough to extend an invitation to try their vegetarian (and vegan) friendly dishes, that did not disappoint! I left with a full belly and tantalized taste buds. Aye Yai Yai! Today we are talking about Vegetarian Tex-Mex food in Madrid. Madrid is so much more than Spanish food, and for this native Texan who is obsessed with variety and diversity in life, I am so happy to see more and more international options sprouting up in the city. Coming from one of the food capitals of the U.S., Houston, I crave food flavors from around the world, and being Texan I love our “national” cuisine, Tex-Mex. Top that off with being American, I expect large portions and for my food to come out fast. And that is just what we have in Madrid; 3 fast-casual chains that offer all the above. They pride themselves on using fresh ingredients and follow the U.S. Tex-Mex fast-casual restaurant chain model of Chipotle. Which is where you view an assembly line of options, make your selection, and have your food made right in front of you. Best part yet about all 3 places is that they have a variety of vegetarian Tex-Mex options that you can eat on site or order to-go. Let’s check them out! For all my plant-based people, do you know where to find the best veggie burgers in Madrid? You may not take Madrid for a city that has a thriving veggie burger scene, but as the demand for meatless options rises so do the offerings. Most of our vegan and vegetarian restaurants serve veggie burgers, but did you know that many hamburger joints are starting to offer plant-based options as well, and some of them are damn good. I should know, cause I’ve just about tried them all. I think I’ve scarfed down about 25 burgers in the name of research to bring my lovely readers this list. How did it fare? Well, some were just OK, the majority were not so good, and then there were those delectable burgers that tantalized my taste buds! Take a peek below and let me know what you think about my picks for the absolute best veggie burgers in Madrid.
